I was recently reading a fascinating article on automation in Duncansville. Automation can be seen as one of the three levels of self-awareness. This is the level of awareness that allows us to make sense of our actions and what has caused them. When we automate a behavior, we are not aware of what caused it. We are not aware of what we are doing. When we are aware of our actions, we can take steps to correct and prevent them.
Our goal in Duncansville is to automate the actions of the Visionaries, and to get a better understanding of their motives.
The only thing we do is to do it as if we were on the moon.
One of the things that makes me excited about how much the robots have been improving is the variety of weapons that they can now make in-game. For example, the weapon called the Remote-Controlled Missile (RCTM) shoots a missile from a gun barrel that is controlled by a user’s finger. The weapon fires a missile that is guided using the user’s finger. It’s cool, but it’s also quite annoying.
It’s not often you can make a weapon that combines the best aspects of two different types of weapons, but in this case it’s not even that hard. Here’s an example of the kind of guns that robots now have: the Remote-Controlled Gun RCTG fires a bullet that is guided to fire by the users finger. The gun has a laser, which can be used to scan the users hand and shoot the bullet at a target on the screen in the middle.
I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this before, but the reason I was so excited about the remote control gun was that it is the first time the weapon system has been integrated in a video game. So this means that in the game the gun is a weapon that people actually use for real. It means that the gun has some sort of real effect on people. It was certainly the most exciting part of the demo to me.
